This blog will be a collection of views on language learning.
It will also include a journal of my own language learning attempts.
Currently my target language is Chinese. I'll be going to Taiwan at least a couple of times in 2012 and for an extended stay in 2013. I would like to be able to communicate well in written and spoken Mandarin. Since the destination is Taiwan, that means the characters will be in the traditional form.
I prefer to learn languages on my own rather than to take a class. I have a collection of Chinese textbooks published in the U.S., Japan, China, and Taiwan. I will be working my way through these books as well as using online resources including broadcasts from Taiwan.
